Biodiversity conservation in Indonesia, especially in North Maluku province, is an integrated development in increasing the role of forest areas, in order to develop biodiversity potential in a sustainable manner. The biodiversity research center carries out research and empowers communities which are expected to play a role in realizing the conservation of biodiversity and its ecosystem. The main focus of Khairun University biodiversity research center is island-based conservation of endemic and rare flora and fauna in North Maluku Province.
